The St Vincent de Paul Society helps with food and utility assistance for those in the local area. While it is technically a non-affiliated group, it is staffed by hard-working volunteers from Prince of Peace and the church provides space for the Society to conduct their important outreach ministry. They help many people every Monday morning in Croghan Hall. If you are interested in volunteering or supporting them with a monetary or item donation, please call 864.331.3937.
The Triune Mercy Soup Kitchen is a ministry that involves dedicated people from various churches in the Upstate. We host the Soup Kitchen on a rotational basis with many volunteers from Prince of Peace.
The Felician Sisters in Kingstree, SC have been supported by the parishioners of Prince of Peace for many years. The sisters have helped the poverty stricken area and their residents overcome many obstacles for the last 20 years. Prince of Peace continues to help the Sisters with specific drives for certain needed items and monetary donations. The Felicians have just been awarded the 2012 Lumen Christi Award from Catholic Extension.
Religious Education teachers. If you want to pass on the Catholic Faith to the younger generation, becoming a teacher is for you! Classes are 8.45a – 9.45a on Sunday mornings. Contact Maria Barontini for more information or to volunteer.
CYO & Jr. CYO– Volunteers are always welcome to work with our teens. If you can’t volunteer for a meeting, cook them a meal for their Sunday evenings or be one of the hosts for the Progressive Dinner. Contact Stephanie Lasitter to volunteer or to sign up for a meal.
Homeschool Co-op– Do you homeschool your children? Get to know other homeschool families and work on various projects during the year, including their spring play. Contact Tracey Mershon to find out more.
Knights of Columbus–We have a large Knights Council here at Prince of Peace. They cook dinners, do a lot of community outreach and just get together. Contact John Olson for information on joining.
KofC Squires– One of two Squires Councils in South Carolina, this is for young men ages 10 & up. They assist the Knights at functions, participate in processions, serve as ushers and other community outreach. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Columbiettes– A women’s group affiliated with the Knights of Columbus. You do not have to have a husband in the Knights to join this great group. Contact Trudy Hock at 864.663.9796.

Respect Life Help raise awareness for Pro-Life causes and organize parishioners to attend such events as the Life Chain and Pro Life rallies in Columbia and DC. Contact Tanya Wersinger to help out in this important cause.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Do you like to knit or crochet? Our group produces beautiful prayer shawls and lap robes to be distributed to those who are sick and shut in and hats and booties for babies which are given to Birthright. Guild of St Jeanne Jugan This group uses their artistic talents by making handmade cards and sends them to those who are ill. Contact Patti Waters to find out more.
All men of the parish are welcome to meet at 8a the First Thursday of the month at Denny’s on Wade Hampton for food and fellowship.
Ladies’ Lunch Bunch
A group of ladies from the parish meet at a different restaurant each month to eat and have a great time. Watch the bulletin for details each month.
